Instant booking vs custom requests

Choose between instant booking and manual custom time requests.

Steps

  1. Use instant booking when the customer can safely choose from the listed available slots and confirm without extra review from you.
  2. Use booking requests when you want customers to ask for a preferred time outside the normal slot list, or when custom pricing, travel, staffing, or scope needs a human decision.
  3. Turn on custom time requests from the service booking options. Requests respect the service's minimum notice, advance window, business mode, and feature access.
  4. Requests are manual by design: the business reviews the request, offers the requested slot or a custom alternative, or rejects it.
  5. Do not describe booking requests as accepting automatically. A request only becomes a real appointment after the business sends an offer and the client accepts it, including payment where required.
  6. For services with very predictable duration and price, instant booking is usually faster for customers. For mobile, variable, or high value services, request based booking is usually safer.
  7. After changing the service request setting, open the public booking page and test both paths: a normal listed slot and Request a different time.
