Permissions and member access

How role defaults and per-member overrides decide what someone sees, and what to do when a screen is locked.

Steps

  1. Two separate things decide what a person can do in Cyntree: the workspace plan (is the feature bought?) and that member's permissions (are they allowed to use it?). A row can be visible but greyed out because of either one.
  2. Every role comes with a set of default permissions. To change them for one person, open Settings > Teams > Configure team, tap the member, and work through the grouped permission checklist.
  3. Permissions are grouped by area: Bookings, Calendar, Booking Requests, Clients, Messages, Notifications, Payments, Services, Availability, Forms, Customer feedback, Reports, Team, Website, Marketing, Business settings, Subscription & billing, Activity history, and Data export.
  4. Many permissions come in own and all pairs — for example View own bookings versus View all bookings, or View own performance versus View team reports. Use the own variants to keep a professional focused on their own work.
  5. An override you set on a member always wins over their role default. Use Reset to role defaults to undo every override at once.
  6. Some permissions are owner-only, such as Manage subscription. They are shown in the list but can never be granted to anyone else.
  7. If a member reports that a screen is missing or greyed out, first check whether they are the Owner or a team member. If they are a member, adjust their permissions. If they are the Owner, the cause is the plan, not permissions.
  8. If a member's access looks out of date after you change it, they can tap Sync access on the Team screen to refresh their permissions.
  9. Outcome check: the member sees the affected row become tappable after syncing.
