- Deposits let you collect a partial payment when a customer books, with the remainder due at the appointment. To enable deposits, open the Pricing section and set the service payment mode to deposit.
- Choose the deposit type: percentage based (for example 30% of the service price) or fixed amount (for example £20 regardless of service price). For percentage deposits, enter the percentage value. For fixed deposits, enter the exact amount.
- Before enabling deposits on any service, make sure your business has an active online payment provider for the current environment. Deposit collection requires online payment processing to work.
- Deposits require online payment. When a service requires a deposit, cash acceptance is turned off for that service so the booking cannot be confirmed without the amount due now.
- If online payments are not active, you can still use Free or Full payment behavior. Full payment requires accepting cash until online checkout is ready.
- Use the booking fee preview when pricing online services. If you absorb the platform booking fee into the service price, Cyntree adjusts the displayed totals and keeps fixed deposits within the service price.
- When a customer books a service that requires a deposit, they see the deposit amount clearly during checkout before they pay. The remaining balance is shown as due at the appointment.
- After the customer pays the deposit, the booking is confirmed and the payment status reflects the partial payment. You can track deposit collected vs. total amount due from the appointment detail screen.
- Test the full deposit booking flow yourself before sharing your page: create a test booking, verify the deposit amount displays correctly at checkout, and confirm the payment status updates properly after payment.
